Georgina also took time to talk to TYG about the concept that inspired the featured editorial and her roots as a photographer.
Interview date: 27/5/25
TYG: How did you become a photographer?
Georgina: It sounds so cliché to say, but I’ve always had photography as a passion! I have such vivid memories of coming home from school and playing around on Photoshop for hours with pictures I had taken in my spare time. Since those younger days, I went on to study Photography for my Bachelors Degree after my wonderful college tutor gave me the belief that this was something I could do as a profession, and for him I’m so grateful.
TYG: Where are you based and what is it like to work there as a photographer?
Georgina: I’m currently based in London which is the hub of it all! Working here is such a privilege as the city is filled with so many creative individuals who are so supportive and always helping each other out.
TYG: Who/what were your influences?
Georgina: I would say my influences lie heavily in the music, books & poems I consume, but mostly from my nearest and dearest memories, connections and conversations with the wonderful people around me.

TYG: Tell us a bit about the featured shoot. What was the idea behind it?
Georgina: The idea behind the shoot featured here is all about the self, something I have covered often through my work. My relationship with myself has already had so many iterations and it’s something I’m always developing and trying to understand! The work I create is an extension of myself and a way for me to explain what I can’t through words.
TYG: What was the team like to work with?
Georgina: The team I worked with to create this test shoot was a bunch of fun! The team was made up of the beautiful Olive, stylist Alessia and HMUA Saiko. The stylist (Alessia Di Giulio) and I met working the same part time job and had always spoken about collaborating together! This was our first time working on the same project and it couldn’t have gone better! Being able to put all my trust into her stylist vision meant that I could solely focus on the imagery and ensure we captured exactly what we wanted.
TYG: How would you describe your work style as a photographer? (do you put certain types of music on, a way of directing the models)
Georgina: Good question! Having dabbled in documentary photography, I like to go into shoots with an open mind and aim to be led by my subject as much as possible. For me, this creates the most authentic imagery both to myself and those involved in pulling it together!
TYG: Any ideas you would like to try in future?
Georgina: I have so many ideas I would love to try in the future! As I grow as an individual I’m really excited to see how my work evolves alongside me.
