“I have always wanted to be a fashion designer from when I was younger and my love for fashion only grew stronger and stronger. I remember my earliest fashion memory was when my mum took me to school one morning with my sister, I must have been in year 2 and it was world dress up day where my mum sent me to school as a tennis player. My little fashionista mind didn’t like that idea, so I snuck in a pink crab bikini and a sparkly skirt into my bag. I tried to flush my other outfit down the toilet, not sure why and I walked up on that stage and won the award as a “fashionable swimmer”!  My sister was very surprised and so was my mum when she picked me up that evening. I guess it all began then.

When I was 14 I discovered the world of beauty and fashion gurus on YouTube and I felt an instant connection! I was obsessed with watching them, I watched people like Bethany mota, Meghan Rienks and so on! I felt it was something I really wanted to do myself so I started filming my own videos! I didn’t have a crazy DSLR camera at this point so I started off using my dad's old flip camera and a really old laptop! That’s where my love for creating content began! Since then my channel has grown to 5,000 subscribers through creating insightful  content such as travel vlogs, daily routines and clothing hauls. Ever since then I have loved creating content and that’s when I realised I wanted to study the creative digital side to fashion when I went to university.

When it came time to go to university I was determined to go to London college of fashion. Due to it being the best fashion school in the world and also the only university that taught the course I wanted to do. I luckily got in and have been studying creative direction there for 3 years. I have learnt a lot through those years.

I have always been someone who knew what they wanted and planned it out and put myself on a timeline to achieve these goals. I found that pursuing my goals whilst in London was the best thing to do. I decided in my second year of uni to set up my own clothing line “Lou Luna” where I started it from my uni dorm room. There is no perfect time to start and I just happened to start mine in the middle of a pandemic. I thought if I can launch a clothing brand in the middle of a pandemic then that’s something!

I also decided to start an online magazine called “The urban cowgirl” where I post about fashion, beauty and wellness. I have always found that I have a split personality, where one side of me is very fun, colourful and outgoing with fashion and then my go to natural style that is 100% Lou Luna style. Having “The urban cowgirl” lets me express my more fun side of fashion as well as allowing me to collaborate with lots of different people and brands.

Starting a clothing brand has always been a goal of mine and I thought what a better time to do it when I was surrounded by inspiration, had support from teachers, good contacts, good money in my pocket from uni, and I didn’t have a full time job tying me down yet!

I have always been super interested in making an environmental impact and making a change in any way I can. Since getting older and seeing the impacts of global warming and the effects the fashion industry has on our planet today I have been on a mission to make a change in my everyday habits and have a new behaviour towards fashion.

Lou Luna is created to be an eco aware and timeless brand for you to wear. The pieces are created to be able to dress up or down to however you are feeling that day. I have always found it hard to find pieces that make me feel comfortable and confident. They’re either too out there and not wearable for everyday use or too dressed down.

I personally feel my best when I know I’m wearing something that’s comfortable but also is super cute and makes me feel confident. So I decided to make that my main aim with the brand. All the pieces can be worn so versatile for however your feeling that day, that’s what I love about the brand the most!

In the time we live in, I have found to see that the role of media plays one of the biggest parts of a brand. It’s so important with how you engage with your customers through your platforms and if I can create a platform that makes buying eco aware fashion more interesting and less looked down on I will! If that’s from connecting to the customers though instagram stories, reels, and IGTV videos. The problem with sustainable fashion brands is that they’re usually over priced and often a certain style that doesn’t fit in with our generation today. That’s why I have made sure that I create pieces in the brand for the woman on the go that she knows will make her feel good in an effortless way everyday!

Lou Luna has been created as an eco aware brand that will eventually in the future be a 100% sustainable brand. As a new brand it is eco aware and we make sure that we can try our best to supply you with pieces that aren’t impacting the environment. We make sure that our t-shirts are sourced with 100% organic cotton with printing on that doesn’t have any bad chemicals in. All our t-shirts have been made to be vegan and our jumpers are organic. The rest of the pieces are recycled that prevents landfill waste as well as the packaging being 100% recyclable. As a brand we are really looking forward to building up the brand to be 100% eco friendly in the future.

“There is never a perfect time to do something, sometimes you just have to dive right in and hope for the best!”
