A bank holiday weekend of sun in the north of England?! That’s what we have been blessed with this weekend and for myself that means wanting a lighter, fresher feeling make up look.
During the summer months I want my skin to be protected, hydrated and to have a glowing from within appearance. Achieving this means carefully selecting products that will let my own skin shine through whilst also blurring any blemishes and evening out my skin tone.
Products that I have been loving to achieve this look are;
La Roche Posay – Anthelios Ultra Hydrating Cream SPF 50+
La Roche Posay have a huge corner of the market when it comes to SPF. I like the ultra hydrating version because my skin really drinks it up but the brand also offers versions such as light, anti-shine and tinted, this product protects against the suns harmful UVA rays and infrared radiation. It feels comfortable on the skin, is non sticky and is great on its own or underneath make up.
Weleda Skin Food
I feel like this product is a make up artist’s staple but really everyone should have one of these little green tubes at home. This multi use product can be used on the whole body to moisturise and hydrate. It is intensely nourishing and I love using this on my face to really provide complete hydration before I use any make up at all. On days I am make up free this is all I need to give my skin a beautiful glow. There is also a light option available which some people prefer to use as a daily facial moisturiser.
Glossier Future Due
Part of a growing section of beauty products that blur the lines between skin care and make up, Glossier Future Due was an instant cult favourite. This product is full of good stuff and gives skin an instant brighter, duey look. It also works on skin over time to produce a brighter complexion thanks to its plant based extracts. This is a product you can wear alone putting on after the rest of your skincare routine or underneath make up with which it does not interfere.
Trinny London BFF De Stress
Another product blurring the lines between skin care and make up is BFF de stress serum. This tinted serum works hard on the skin to reduce the effects of the stress hormone cortisol and also builds breathable coverage. The result is a beautiful light weight finish leaving you looking radiant. As a summer tinted moisturiser/light foundation this is a real winner and now a firm favourite in my make up bag.
Glossier Stretch Consealer
Back to glossier again, this time for a consealer that I have been absolutely loving. If I find I need extra coverage after applying a tinted moisturiser/light weight foundation I reach for my stretch consealer. This formula covers dark circles and blemishes seamlessly. It is virtually undetectable on the skin. It doesn’t cake but it does cover. Perfect!
Iconic London Face Ombre Original
I am a big fan of liquid products and for a summer look, these work perfectly to emulate natural skin. This new set from Iconic London combines a liquid illuminator, liquid bronzer and liquid blush. Used on all the right areas of the face this gives you the most gorgeous sun kissed, glowing complexion around. Less really is more when it comes to these products and they are incredibly easy to use and blend like a dream.
